Seminar: “GEN Z – GEN AI: Convergence or Replacement?”
Amidst the vibrant atmosphere of the YOUTH FEST 2024, the Startup Wheel 2024 launch seminar under the theme “GEN Z – GEN AI: Convergence or Replacement?” took place with the participation of nearly 500 students, young people, and youth union members currently studying and working in Ho Chi Minh City.
This seminar is part of the series of activities initiating Startup Wheel 2024 – a startup competition initiated by the Ho Chi Minh Communist Youth Union, Vietnam Youth Federation of Ho Chi Minh City, Vietnam National Union of Students of Ho Chi Minh City, and supervised by the Department of Science and Technology (DOST), co-organized by Business Startup Support Centre (BSSC), Investment & Business Partners (IBP) and Young Business People Association of Ho Chi Minh City (YBA).
To seek and select innovative models and solutions to honor and nurture, Startup Wheel provides a beneficial platform for young people with an entrepreneurial spirit, identifying multiple generations of startups distinguished not only by talent but also by their contributions to the community and society.

During the panel discussions, speakers shared perspectives, experiences, and hopes on how the world can best utilize the strengths of both generations, envisioning a future where both humans and AI can develop and contribute to a prosperous and just society.
Through the sharing, speakers not only provided an opportunity for a deeper understanding of Generation Z and Artificial Intelligence (AI) but also a chance to reassess and reshape the relationship between humans and technology in the digital age.
A strong message was conveyed – one of convergence, not replacement. Generation Z, with its dynamism, creativity, and adaptability, alongside its ability to swiftly access and apply new technologies, can and should work alongside AI to create new values, address societal issues, and foster sustainable development for the future.
Startup Wheel 2024 officially kicks off
Ms. Le Thi Tuong Vy, Deputy Director of the Business Startup Support Center (BSSC), introduced and kicked off the Startup Wheel 2024 competition.
Ms. Tuong Vy mentioned that Startup Wheel has undergone a 12-year journey of building, accompanying, and supporting the Vietnamese Startup Ecosystem.
Startup Wheel is a platform connecting Vietnamese startups with over 500 individual investors, venture capital funds, entrepreneurs, and leaders of leading corporations in Vietnam and SEA.
Startup Wheel 2024 has officially opened registration, welcoming all startup ideas and projects in Vietnam seeking opportunities to shine and fulfill their dreams.
In 2024, Startup Wheel is expected to cover more than 30 countries on 5 continents with nearly 2,000 registered applications, including welcomes international startups planning to expand their businesses in the Vietnamese and Southeast Asian markets.
About Startup Wheel
Startup Wheel 2024 will be a competition consisting of two tracks: the Vietnam Track and the International Track.
- Vietnam Track: This track launches and accepts registrations nationwide in Vietnam, with no age restrictions.
- International Track: This track will be widely promoted and collaborate with over 150 international partners to attract the participation of startups from more than 30 countries such as South Korea, Thailand, Singapore, Hong Kong, Japan, Malaysia, Australia, etc.
