According to TechCrunch, football superstar Lionel Messi and his colleagues are working with experts from Silicon Valley to establish a Startup project.
The investments that Messi is targeting involve sports, media and new technologies. The new startup with the participation of Messi Group and 2 famous technology experts of Silicon Valley is Razmig Hovaghimian (CEO and co-founder of global video-on-demand sharing site Viki) and special advisor Michael Marquez.
“I am excited to expand my horizons to Silicon Valley and am delighted that Play Time (the new Startup) will partner with enterprising entrepreneurs from around the world,” Messi said. I hope that through the success of Play Time will help many people and have a positive impact on the world. I am confident that my team and partners can achieve common goals.”
Currently Playtime will be headquartered in San Francisco, with strong investments in areas such as sports or media, in the long term the startup will consider buying shares in sports teams and investing in football technology.
Play Time also revealed that it has hatched a project called Matchday.com, a studio specializing in making games for football fans and is expected to launch before the 2022 World Cup that will take place in November.
In addition, this startup has just participated in the funding round of AC Momento, an auction of official shirts from famous clubs and players.
